Compliant Liquid Pretreament Requirements

  • Send your building plans out for bid
  • Schedule treatment of the basement soil with liquid termiticide
    • Be certain that soil/ substrate is in place and plumbing in place but before any Polyethylene sheeting has been installed
    • Be certain that all other workers are off site for several hours during and following treatment until treatment is absorbed by the soil
    • Be certain that your Safety Officer ensures that all Personal Protective Equipment is in use by all pesticide handlers. That includes long pants, long sleeved shirt, chemical resistant gloves, shoes, hardhat, goggles and respirator
    • Be certain that treatment volume follows the label exactly. Usually that is one gallon per ten square feet for horizontal barriers and four gallons per ten lineal feet times the distance to the footing for vertical barriers
    • Treatment warranty begins today even though closing may be months away
  • Schedule treatment of the garage soil and soil under porches and patios with liquid termiticide
    • Be certain that soil/ substrate is in place but before any Polyethylene sheeting has been installed
    • Be certain that all other workers are off site for several hours during and following treatment until treatment is absorbed by the soil
    • Be certain that your Safety Officer ensures that all Personal Protective Equipment is in use by all pesticide handlers. That includes long pants, long sleeved shirt, chemical resistant gloves, shoes, hardhat, goggles and respirator
    • Be certain that treatment volume follows the label exactly. Usually that is one gallon per ten square feet for horizontal barriers and four gallons per ten lineal feet times the distance to the footing for vertical barriers
  • Schedule treatment of backfill with liquid termiticide
    • Be certain that soil backfill is treated while it is being replaced. If not, the treatment technician must dig a trench in the soil adjacent to the foundation and use rodding techniques to reach a depth of four feet of treatment into the soil
    • Be certain that once treatment is complete no additional soil is added and that treated soil is not moved!
    • Be certain that all other workers are off site for several hours during and following treatment until treatment is absorbed by the soil
    • Be certain that your Safety Officer ensures that all Personal Protective Equipment is in use by all pesticide handlers and Construction Workers on site. That includes long pants, long sleeved shirt, chemical resistant gloves, shoes, hardhat, goggles and respirator
    • Be certain that treatment volume follows the label exactly. Usually that is four gallons per ten lineal feet times the distance to the footing for vertical barriers
